The Eagles Plan Hollywood Bowl Dates for April

Plans have been unveiled by The Eagles for a stand of three nights next April at Hollywood Bowl in Southern California. The engagement will mark The Eagles first time performing in the venue.

The three shows are scheduled for April 16, 17 and 20. On December 14, tickets will be be made available to the general public at the box office. Starting on December 7, American Express card holders will have an early chance to buy tickets. All Ticketmaster locations will have tickets available. In addition, iloveallaccess.com will have VIP ticket packages available.

The Eagles, comprised of Joe Walsh, Glenn Frey, Don Henley and Timothy B. Schmit are continuing to back “Long Road Out of Eden” from 2007. When it was released, it marked the first new studio set for the band in 28 years. The album debuted on Billboard’s 200 chart in the No. 1 spot after selling 711,000 copies during its first week. Nielsen SoundScan data revealed the set to be the best selling album from a group in 2007.

In addition “Long Road Out of Eden” earned The Eagles two Grammy Awards. In 2008 “How Long” earned them the award for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with vocals. In 2009 “I Dreamed There Was No War” won Best Pop Instrumental Performance.

Eagles Map Additional Dates to 2008 Tour

A few additional dates have been added by the Eagles for their forthcoming North American trek ahead of their launch next week.

Last month, the veteran rockers wrapped up their “Long Road Out of Eden Tour” of 2008. On January 12, they will be back out on the road in Hampton, VA and through the month will have a dozen performances along the East Coast as well as South. Then the itinerary skips to March with another dozen shows taking place mostly in the Midwest as well as Canada. Dates added since last check include Chicago, Detroit and Moline, IL. On January 12 tickets will be going on sale for the new dates.

As part of Ticketmaster’s new program called “all-in ticketing” tickets will be sold for many of these shows at their advertised prices without any additional convenience fees added. In November Ticketmaster announced the program after acquiring a controlling stake in Front Line Management Group, Irving Azoff’s company. One of their clients is the Eagles. Azoff is now CEO for the new entity called Ticketmaster Entertainment.

A six week European tour has also been booked by the Eagles. It will be launched in late May. Additional information regarding the dates is on the Eagles website.

The ongoing tour has Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Timothy B. Schmit and Joe Walsh performing classics from the Eagles repertoire, hits from their respective solo careers as well as songs from “Long Road Out of Eden,” their album from last year that marked the first new material collection from the band in 28 years. The outing in 2008 to support their new album was North America’s No. 3 best selling tour. According to Pollstar, the concert trade publication, the tour sold tickets worth $73.4 million.

“Long Road Out of Eden,” the two disc set, topped the Top Country Albums and Billboard’s 200 charts. It has now gone platinum seven times, with help from hit singles “How Long” and “Busy Being Fabulous.” “How Long” earned the fifth Grammy Award for the Eagles.

The Eagles Sign On for Stagecoach Festival

The Eagles recently announced plans for their multi-night engagement this May in Atlanta. Their performance in Indio, CA at the Stagecoach Country Music Festival this year will serve as the stand’s warm up.

The festival was originally scheduled to be held on May 3 and 4 but has been expanded to an event of three days. May 2 has been added. The recently added date will be capped off by a headlining set by the Eagles. They follow performances from Rissi Palmer, Glenn Campbell, Shelby Lynne, Trisha Yearwood and John Fogerty.

The Empire Polo Grounds will be the setting for the festival and will also be featuring performances from Big & Rich, Carrie Underwood, The Judds, Tim McGraw and Rascal Flatts among other performers. According to festival organizers, over 50 acts will span across several different musical genres, including alt-country, roots rock, folk, bluegrass and mainstream country, performing over the three day weekend on four stages. The appearance at Stagecoach by the Eagles precedes their engagement that was previously announced for the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Alpharetta, GA. There will four shows in total on May 14, 16, 17, 20. Tickets are currently on sale.

It is expected that fans will be able to hear the band performing Eagles classic hits pulled from their 30 year long career in addition to material from “Long Road Out of Eden,” their latest album. The set was released last November and marks the first new studio album in 28 years for the band.

The Eagles to Open Atlanta’s Verizon Wireless Amphitheater

This spring the Eagles will be breaking in the new amphitheater in Alpharetta, GA to kick off the “Long Road Out of Eden World Tour” US leg.

The legendary rockers have scheduled to performed at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater located in Encore Park on May 14. The launch date so far is the only US show to be announced so far. Tickets will be going on sale on February 1. The website for I Love All Access will have VIP packages available.

The international trek for the Eagles will launch with a run of four shows on March 20, 22, 23, 26 at the O2 arena in London. They will be debuting a new stage production there.

Timothy B. Schmit, Joe Walsh, Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Eagle band members, will be performing Eagles classics in addition to new material from “Long Road Out of Eden,” their new album. The set debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s 200 chart in November. During its first week it sold over 711,000 copies. Earlier this month the set of 2 discs was certified as a seven time platinum seller. It is comprised of the first new material collection from the Eagles in 28 years.

The lead single from the album, “How Long” is still part of adult contemporary radio’s Top 10 after 22 weeks. It has also been nominated for a Grammy in the category Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group.

The Eagles Reboot Long Road Tour into Summer

The Eagles are preparing to set out for the next “Long Road Out of Eden Tour” leg. The trek has been expanded and now includes 18 North American concerts in 13 cities.

The summer run will kick off in Philadelphia on July 14 and focus on the southern and eastern parts of the US, with stops in Moncton, New Brunswick and Toronto as well. Multi-night engagements have been booked for Chicago, Boston, Toronto and Atlantic City.

The Eagles will be breaking in the BOK Center Arena in Tulsa, OK as the inaugural act on September 6. That concert as well as the ones in St. Louis, MO; San Antonio, TX; Dallas, TX; and Houston, TX will be going on sale on July 21. All the other dates for the outing are already on sale.
