The Eagles are preparing to set out for the next “Long Road Out of Eden Tour” leg. The trek has been expanded and now includes 18 North American concerts in 13 cities.
The summer run will kick off in Philadelphia on July 14 and focus on the southern and eastern parts of the US, with stops in Moncton, New Brunswick and Toronto as well. Multi-night engagements have been booked for Chicago, Boston, Toronto and Atlantic City.
The Eagles will be breaking in the BOK Center Arena in Tulsa, OK as the inaugural act on September 6. That concert as well as the ones in St. Louis, MO; San Antonio, TX; Dallas, TX; and Houston, TX will be going on sale on July 21. All the other dates for the outing are already on sale. Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Glenn Frey and Timothy B. Schmit, the veteran rockers, out on the road will be playing classic Eagle hits as well as new material from “Long Road Out of Eden,” their album released last year. It is the first collection from the Eagles in 28 years of new material. The set of two discs was released last November. It topped both the country albums and Billboard’s 200 charts, selling over 711,000 copies during its first week. Since then the set has been certified platinum seven times.
The album spawned crossover hit singles “How Long” and “Busy Being Fabulous.” The Eagles won the Grammy award Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for “How Long.” Originally the set was sold exclusively at Wal-Mart. It become available recently in MP3 download format via Amazon.com.
The Eagles over the course of their long career have sold over 120 million albums around the world. They have won five Grammy Awards and had five No. 1 hit singles. “Greatest Hits 1971-1975” by the Eagles is the best selling all time album in the US.
